Ertl produced this 1:64 scale John Deere 4520 as the official National Farm Toy Show exclusive for 2001. Like every other year's release, it was tied to that November's show in Dyersville, Iowa. As with the rest of the series, production of the John Deere 4520 was limited to the show and its mail-order audience, and it has not been reissued since, so it now trades almost entirely on the secondary market.
