This is a reference guide, not an appraisal

The price estimates on Farm Diecast are derived from actual sales data and are intended as a general reference for collectors. They are not formal appraisals and should not be used for insurance, estate, or legal purposes. Actual sale prices vary based on condition, buyer and seller location, timing, and factors we cannot observe.

Where the data comes from

Prices come from eBay active and sold listings, pulled daily through eBay's official Browse API (no scraping). Each listing is matched to a model by exact UPC (newer models), by manufacturer stock number plus brand, or by a title term unique to that model. Models made before UPC barcodes are matched by stock number or title.

Coming later: results from farm toy auction houses such as Polk, VanDerBrink, and Aumann, and collector reports.

Other marketplace links

Some model pages also link to listings on Etsy, Amazon, or Mercari, alongside the eBay price data described above. These links do not feed the price estimates on this site. Each one is added by hand after a human confirms the listing matches the correct model, edition, and condition.

Condition grades

Listing pages show the label below for each grade, since it says more than the grade code alone. Collectors will recognize the code itself (NIB, EX, VG, G, F) from common convention.

Original packaging (open box) (NIB)

Unplayed with, original box present and intact, no shelf wear. The highest grade and typically highest value.

Pre-owned (excellent) (EX)

No play wear visible; may show very minor storage marks. No box, or box with minor wear.

Pre-owned (very good) (VG)

Light play wear, minor paint chips, or small decal wear. Still highly displayable.

Pre-owned (good / used) (G)

Moderate play wear, paint loss, or missing small parts. Complete and displayable but shows use.

Pre-owned (fair condition) (F)

Heavy wear, significant paint loss, missing parts, or damage. Value is primarily for parts or restoration.

The estimate on a model page combines sales of every standard grade (NIB through G), and sales with no stated grade, into one figure. Parts sales are left out, as described below.

A listing's title can change its label:

• Sealed NIB: "Factory sealed (vintage stock)."
• Damaged or missing box: "Pre-owned (no box)" or "Pre-owned (box damaged / reproduction)."
• For parts or incomplete: "Parts / accessory / as-is."
• No usable condition data: "Condition not specified."

Labels only change how a listing is described. The one exception: sales graded F or labeled "Parts / accessory / as-is" are left out of the estimate.

Sample size and confidence

Est. value is the average of what buyers actually paid, with recent sales counting more. A sale from 15 months ago counts about half as much as one from this week.

• Needs at least 3 sales in the past 2 years. With fewer, the page uses the median of all recorded sales and marks it "Historic Data."
• Each sale is item price plus shipping. When shipping isn't listed, it is estimated from that model's mid-priced sales.
• Unusual sales are left out: far outside the middle half of that model's prices, or more than 5 times above or below its median. These are usually rare variants, charity auctions, or data errors.
• Low and high show every counted sale equally, so the range is the full spread.
• Each model page shows how many sales the estimate rests on and the dates they span.
• With fewer than 3 recorded sales, the page shows "Available from" (the current asking price) instead of an estimate.
• When nothing has sold in a few months, the estimate is labeled with the month of the latest sale.

Variants and pricing

Some models were produced in multiple variants: standard retail issues, National Farm Toy Show specials, and dealer exclusives. Where the variant is known, prices are tracked separately per variant, since show specials often command a meaningful premium over standard releases.
