For 1992, Ertl chose the Massey-Harris 55 Diesel as the National Farm Toy Show's official 1:16 scale release. It carries on the show's tradition of a new tractor release each November in Dyersville, Iowa. As with the rest of the series, production of the Massey-Harris 55 Diesel was limited to the show and its mail-order audience, and it has not been reissued since, so it now trades almost entirely on the secondary market.
