The Waterloo Boy Tractor
Farmer Jerry says
“This right here is where it all started, folks! The Waterloo Boy was burning kerosene and replacing draft horses before my time, but my granddad sure swore by 'em. Simple, loud, and got the job done.”
About this model
- 1:16 die-cast metal replica
- Steel
- Horizontal two-cylinder kerosene
- Original 2000 Precision Classics release
The Waterloo Boy stands at the very beginning of John Deere's tractor heritage: it was the machine the company acquired when they purchased the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company in 1918, instantly entering the tractor business. Powered by a horizontal two-cylinder kerosene engine, the Waterloo Boy was an early-era tractor with exposed mechanicals and steel wheels typical of the era. This 2000 Precision Classics 1:16 replica is among the most historically important in the series, representing the foundation from which all John Deere tractors descend.
