The 4440 Tractor
Farmer Jerry says
“The 4440! Now we're in the Sound-Gard era. Getting in that quiet cab with the air conditioning running while pulling a heavy load... man, we thought we were spoiled.”

- Original 2000 Precision Classics release
The John Deere 4440 was the heart of the Iron Horses generation, covering the 1978-1982 lineup that introduced the Sound-Gard cab, giving operators the first truly weatherproof, low-noise environment in a John Deere row-crop tractor. Rated at 130 PTO horsepower, the 4440 became one of the best-selling tractors of its era on Midwest grain farms. This 2000 Precision Classics 1:16 replica details the landmark Sound-Gard body, wide-front axle, and dual rear tires that defined the look of large-frame farming in the early 1980s.
