The Unstyled Model B Tractor
Farmer Jerry says
“The Model B was the little brother to the 'A', perfect for pulling a cultivator. Had that classic two-cylinder 'Johnny Popper' sound that'd lull you right to sleep if you weren't careful!”
About this model
- 1:16 die-cast metal replica
- Two-cylinder
- Original 2004 Precision Classics release
The John Deere Model B entered production in 1935 as a lighter, more affordable companion to the Model A, two-thirds the size and priced for the farmer who didn't need full A-size power. The unstyled B, built through 1938 before Henry Dreyfuss restyled the line, retains the boxy prewar sheet metal and exposed two-cylinder engine that give it a distinctly utilitarian character. This 2004 Precision Classics 1:16 replica pairs directly with the styled Model B from 1998 to show the same tractor across both eras.
