The Model 5010 Tractor
Farmer Jerry says
“The 5010 was a beast! Over a hundred horsepower in a two-wheel-drive tractor was unheard of back then. You needed deep pockets and a lot of land to justify one of these.”
About this model
- 1:16 die-cast metal replica
- Six-cylinder diesel
- Original 2004 Precision Classics release
The John Deere 5010, produced from 1962 to 1965, was the first two-wheel-drive John Deere tractor to exceed 100 horsepower, a milestone that redefined what a row-crop or standard-tread tractor could deliver. Its six-cylinder diesel produced 121 PTO horsepower, and its sheer size made it a landmark of the early New Generation era. This 2004 Precision Classics 1:16 replica closes the series with one of its most imposing subjects, capturing the large-frame standard-tread stance and early-generation styling that marked the beginning of modern high-horsepower farming.
