Ertl built this John Deere 8960 4WD in 1:64 scale as the National Farm Toy Show's official tractor for 2021. The show has run every November in Dyersville, Iowa, since 1978, and this is one of its annual tractor releases. It originally sold for $25.00 through Toy Farmer's direct order form. As with the rest of the series, production of the John Deere 8960 4WD was limited to the show and its mail-order audience, and it has not been reissued since, so it now trades almost entirely on the secondary market.
